Alkmaar is a monumental city in the center of a typical Dutch polder landscape, nearby the North Sea beach and the artist village of Bergen.
Alkmaar is famous for its weekly cheese market in the summer, but also has a pleasant downtown area with hundreds of stores, many special shops, art galleries and of course shops with the best Dutch cheeses.
At the famous Waagplein, where on Friday morning the cheese market takes place, you can relax on a sunny day on one of the spacious terraces enjoying a drink.
For dinner, you can either choose from dozens of excellent restaurants or you can prepare your own meals in the apartment with fresh market produce.

Our apartment is located in the Old Town, in the nineteenth century the shopping and craft center of Alkmaar, at the car-free and quiet Fnidsen to be exact. Here you will find really old houses, historic canal houses and specialist shops.
Your holiday apartment is located in a small 17th-century building at the corner of the Sint Jacobstraat and Fnidsen and has a private entrance to the Fnidsen.

On the ground floor is a gallery for photography established and run by the owners of the apartment. In 2011 the entire building was completely renovated and modernized while retaining character.

The first floor has a comfortable bedroom and fitted bathroom designed in Moroccan stucco style.

On the second floor you will find a bright and attractive living space with modern, fully equipped kitchen.
The large sliding window facing south will make you feel like being outside!
