Hemelum is a little village in Friesland, in the northern part of The Netherlands. It is situated in an area of natural beauty called Gaasterland. Lakes and woods are in walking distance. The ijsselmeer is only a few miles away. You can go hiking, biking, surfing, fishing, boating or sightseeing. In the former inn, built in 1852, Peter van Capelleveen and Ans Bouwmans have started a bed & breakfast with modern amenities and old-fashioned hospitality. Guests are welcomed with a drink. There is a spacious lounge with a fireplace. In the morning you are served a three course breakfast. All four rooms have kingsize beds, a bathroom en-suite and tv. Rates are around 95 euro a room in high season. Lower rates apply off-season and for stays longer than one night. All guestrooms and the lounge are non-smoking. In the evening a three course meal can be served on request.

Wij hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad in de 7de Hemel. Het 3-gangen ontbijt waa fantastisch. En het diner is absoluut een aanrader. Peter en Ans kunnen heerlijk koken. Wij konden ons dochtertje van vier maanden op bed leggen en hebben zelf heerlijk gegeten. Een absolute aanrader.
